SLR exhibit at Renewables UK Annual Conference in Glasgow
Following the formal integration of AMA’s ecology team into SLR Consulting on February 1st 2010, SLR exhibited at a well-attended RenewableUK conference and exhibition, held in Glasgow over the 2-4 November. Andrew McCarthy, Dr Stephen Holloway and Tim Palmer from the former AMA team attended the event, alongside senior members of the SLR teams, including Director Alan Edwards and Technical Directors Lindsay Guthrie and Tom Green.
Dr Holloway also delivered a well-received presentation at a workshop on the first day of the Conference, during which he outlined a strategy to ensure that ecological issues are addressed at the outset of a wind energy project, in such a way as to reduce the likelihood of applications being challenged on ecological grounds by statutory organisations, local planning authorities and increasingly well informed public pressure groups.
