EIA and public inquiry
We have considerable experience in EIA and provide input to the entire process, from initial scoping to preparation of an Ecology Chapter for an Environmental Statement (ES).
Scoping and consultation
The ecology elements of the scoping study are ideally undertaken at an early stage, in order to identify key ecological issues at the outset and provide ample time to undertake potentially time-consuming or seasonally constrained survey. Early consultation with the statutory agencies is a vital part of scoping and ensures their agreement with proposed survey methodology and mitigation measures.
Input to the ES
As the project progresses, we engage closely with the EIA team members, including planners, engineers and landscape architects, to ensure clients are aware of any constraints affecting scheme design or timing of a planning application submission. Our senior team oversees all our EIA work and members have been involved in a wide range of projects in sectors as diverse as leisure, wind energy, major road schemes, airports and large-scale housing.
Public inquiry
A Public Inquiry service is provided, including initial consultation with the inquiry team and counsel, followed by preparation and submission of proof of evidence and provision of expert witnesses.
